easyDNS Rolls Out Support for Dynamic DNS Updates(To view documentation on how to enable dynamic DNS updates for your easyDNS domain, see the Dynamic DNS Tutorial)FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE easyDNS Rolls Out Support for Dynamic DNS Updates Toronto, Canada (September 6, 2000) - easyDNS Technologies Inc. (http://www.easydns.com/) today announced support for dynamic DNS updates for domain names subscribed to their DNS service. Dynamic DNS is the term used to describe the process by which users operating computers on the Internet may map a domain name to their system even if it does not reside on a static IP address. Many cable and DSL providers either change their subscribers' IP address periodically or assign a different one to their subscribers' computers each time they connect. Dynamic DNS enables users to operate internet services such as web, email or chat servers on their home computers even if this IP address changes. "While dynamic DNS has been around for some time, most services that provide it only do so via third level domain names, like 'yourname.example.com'", explained VP Technology Mark Jeftovic, "we're probably the first serious commercial DNS provider to offer it at the user's own domain name." To use dynamic DNS with their easyDNS domains users must download a third party software client which supports the service. At present software clients which support the easyDNS system are available for both Linux/Unix and Windows platforms. About easyDNS: Based in Toronto, Canada, easyDNS Technologies Inc. is a premier provider of DNS, domain name management services and domain name registrations, enjoying 100% DNS uptime since launching in July 1998.
