remote1 and remote3 redeployed

remote1.easydns.com and remote3.easydns.com have been upgraded and moved onto Prolexic.com’s “Clean Pipe” environment, as part of our DoS mitigation strategy.

The new IP addresses are:

remote1.easydns.com: 209.200.131.4
remote3.easydns.com: 209.200.131.10

Secondary customers should know that for now we are slaving secondary zones from an internal nameserver and there is no need to change their nameserver ACLs on their masters. We will be publishing a new ACL next week after more upgrades and emailing them to all secondary DNS members.

DDoS Attack Status

As of 6:24 pm EST all of the remote nameservers are back online and the problems with shawcable transits have stabilized.

We sincerely regret this occurrence and are looking forward to this week’s upgrades.

DDoS Attack continuing

We are currently under DDoS attack, the remote nameservers are down, ns1 and ns2 are up except for anybody transiting over shawcable.net networks.

We are working with our upstream providers and remote admins to resolve this and apologize for any ill effects.

In the meantime we continue to move forward to mitigate these attacks on a more sustainable basis and will be posting developments in these channels over the coming days.

Update at 4:13pm EST Shawcable.net problems stabilized around 2pm EST and on other fronts remote2 is back online.

Mail spooling time increase maintained

We have maintained the increased mail queues holding period to 10 days from 5 days in response to Hurricane Katrina/Rita,
in hopes that it may allow those affected the opportunity to maintain the integrity of their operations

Behold: The LOGOUT Button!

One of the most frequently asked for features was the simple ability to logout of the members’ panel without having to restart one’s web browser.

We’re sorry it took so long to get it out there, but there it is now! Second item on the left-hand menu bar.

Some things to know about the new system:

  • dynamic DNS clients should be unaffected by these upgrades
  • cookies must be enabled to login
  • there is a 60 minute inactivity timeout.

If you are having any problems logging into your account, please delete the web cache/cookies and restart your browser. You should only need to do this once. You can delete the easyDNS cookies from your domain via https://members.easydns.com/utils/delete_cookies.php
