We are now tracking the Spamhaus PBL

We are now tracking the Spamhaus The Policy Block list. This list allows service providers to define blocks of IP addresses where e-mail should not originate from.

This service should reduce spam and load on our mail systems.

From the summary at Spamhaus:

The Spamhaus PBL is a DNSBL database of end-user IP address ranges which should not be delivering unauthenticated SMTP email to any Internet mail server except those provided for specifically by an ISP for that customer’s use. The PBL helps networks enforce their Acceptable Use Policy for dynamic and non-MTA customer IP ranges.

Users who have been added to the PBL (most probably by the originating ISP that you receive Internet service from) have recourse; you can go to the page below which will explain how to get unblocked.

Update: Our upstream provider has solved the filtering issue that was the cause of the update delays to ns3.easydns.org. Updates to this nameserver have been received and all domains that answer appropriately will now be up to date.

We are currently experiencing an issue with our “ns3.easydns.org” nameserver where propagation times are slower than normal.

This means that updates to your domain will be relayed out as per normal to the other five easyDNS nameservers, yet “ns3.easydns.org” may be delayed in receiving these updates.

Our sysAdmins are aware of the issue, and are working to resolve this as soon as possible. However, if this is affecting the normal operation of your domain, it is recommended that “ns3.easydns.org” be removed from the list of authoritative nameservers for your domain.

ns6.easydns.net IP change

We are in the midst of transitioning ns6.easydns.net
As part of this the glue record with the root servers have been updated to reflect the new IP.

The old IP will continue to resolve requests for the next 36 hours at which time it will be taken off line.
